THE COMPANY
Our Company is a Vancouver B.C. based information technology company with unique expertise in the urban transit business. Our goal is to improve the way public transit does business. Our team has decades of experience in computer technology coupled with an extensive knowledge of the urban transit industry. We know how to dramatically improve bus service, increase passenger revenue, and reduce operating costs. We have developed a management information system that consists of propriety hardware and software for installation on buses. This unique technology improves the efficiency of passenger boarding and handling of cash fares, as well as reducing revenue loss from fraud. It also provides transit administrators with detailed hard data with respect to passenger demand by bus stop, route, and time of day. This information is essential to the cost-effective operation of public buses but not currently collected or utilized. Transit systems in Canada and the United States collect close to $11 billion in fares for some 8 billion-bus rides annually. It is estimated that approximately $3 billion to $4 billion of this passenger revenue is cash collected in over one hundred thousand fareboxes. All of these transit systems face pressures of reduced subsidies by all levels of government, and they must move towards self-sufficiency. The Company’s systems and expertise can help the public transit increase the fare box revenue and improve the customer service. Public transit companies commonly lose revenue through the fare collection system, particularly with respect to cash transaction at the bus farebox. These onboard transactions require processing by the vehicle operator and increase the time a bus spends boarding passengers. The Company provides a service, which has developed and patented a computer system that monitors the collecting of fares for the purpose of auditing the conventional fareboxes used on fixed route transit operations, as well as increasing driver concentration on vehicle operation. The Company uses the computer fare card system it has developed to gather management information on bus stop where riders board, at what time, amount of fare paid, and if the person is transferring from another route. This data is analyzed by the Company and conveyed to the transit authority monthly along with recommendations on how to improve customer service. |
